Re: Frank's here!

hmm....it reads "must sink" on the fuselage. what was the main role this aircraft played? i guess it is not referring to itself but to the ships it's supposed to attack.

Most likely..... I am sure these planes were not only used as fighters, but probably to attack allied shipping in kamikaze attacks..

Mental note: b-huj reads japanese..Keep him in mind next time we need an interpreter..

Re: Frank's here!

Well, the second character can also mean "depressed", so it could be read as "must be depressed" . .. .

Yes Harry, I also speak and read Japanese. Living in Arizona, it's almost a necessity!

The 57th Shimbutai was a special attack (kamikaze) squadron used to attack B-29's.

Re: Frank's here!

Just curious - at the bottom of my post it says "last edited by Mhackl....." - what was edited and why?

Harry - you were the one who mentioned possibly needing an interpreter. I really do read and speak Japanese - was just volunteering my services if needed. . . .don't know what that has to do with eating at Shoguns . . . .

When I was an active Admin/Moderator, I would sometimes accidentally hit the "edit" button at the bottom of a post instead of the "quote" button.. If you post wasn't changed, then that is probably what happened..

And yes, knowing members who speak other languages is a huge plus.. Especially on the World wide web where many places aren't necessarily in English..

I always wanted to date a Japanese girl. Like I'm alone on that...

Re: Frank's here!

We received our IXO in today too. I will post some pics of the Avenger and others later this afternoon. They seem to look better in person than they have on the net. This said, I have only looked through the clear plastic so far.

Re: Frank's here!

Got my Frank today - real nice looking plane. Would love a natural metal version. To bad IXO doesn't do multiple versions.
