Re: Wanted advice on IXO's

I have all of their WWII Japanese models and I think they are comparable to Corgi. The photos I've seen of their other models don't seem to be as nice for some reason. I'm staying away from them.

Re: Wanted advice on IXO's

What scale IXOs models will you be carrying?

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Wanted advice on IXO's

As a sale item to the general public I would think they would be just fine.

Serious collectors usually buy them to fill in the gaps until a more quality item becomes available.
To be fair to IXO some of their offerings are not too bad.

I've owned a few, and they are generally POS (and "S" doesn't stand for Sugar). Even cheap plastic Easy Models are better. That being said, Japanese birds do stand out above the rest. In all honesty I can't recommend any of them given that they are priced as 1st Tier models from Hobby Master.

Regards,

Sergey

For the 1:72 scale stuff:
I too have all the Japanese models. I also have all the French and Russian (except the white Mig 3 which I'm looking for). Simple fact is most of these models are ONLY made by IXO.

As a side note, IXO customer service is one of the best! Numerous times I've emailed them about missing or damage parts which they quickly correct (usually with a new model shipped!).

Can't comment on the 1:144 since I don't own any.

Re: Wanted advice on IXO's

I don't have any of the 1/144 scale models, but do have 8 of the 1/72nd scale models. Some are fairly nice and do help fill some of the gaps in avialable models.

I agree, some of the IXO planes are gap fillers until better models arrive, the rest are shelf warmers.

IMHO, don't waste your time or your money.
