| Re: Wanted advice on IXO's Sorry to revive an old topic..just wanted to say my opinion about the IXO products... I got 54 in total...50 1/72 and 4 1/144....50 of which, were bought in one go...sounds like a suicide purchase I wrote my review here: Welcome to the Max Aviation Archive © I agree that some planes should be really avoided. But the Japanese are a very good addition in my opinion.I wish I could have purchased 35 out of the whole list of 50...but again, this is my opinion and it's a matter of quality, money and the fact of having the model you always wanted. For example...I had the IXO Bf110 a year before HM released their Bf110...there is a difference of 20.00GBP in price, might as well get over those ugly panel lines until I can afford a better one The 1/144 is different...here we get a lot of plastic and the price is the same if not higher.I limited myself in purchasing 4 of these and I might add another 4 in the next 2-3 months, thats all.I really hope, they'll make some improvements...price especially. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Wanted advice on IXO's
I'm with you Captain Eddie. I have all their Japanese WWII planes in 1/72 and happy with them. Yes, they have some minor problems but hey, who else is gonna make a George, Oscar, Raiden in diecast? If your waiting for Corgi (Hornsby or whoever) to make one, then you better live to 150 like ole Rip Van Winkel. ![]()

| Re: Wanted advice on IXO's
As they keep expanding the roster of planes in this series, I find myself really getting sucked in. No matter what faults may be encountered, the idea that I'm going to see a part metal/part plastic Cant Z 506, Nell, DO-24, Whitley, Peggy, DO-217, etc---even in 1:144th scale--- is really exciting. I suppose that still more planes will be added---the SM-81 , IL-4 or C-46, for example. Also, there's that mysterious Arado 234, which looks increasingly like it may be a 1:72nd scale model---though I'm not completely certain about this. Assuming the terms are reasonable, I'd certainly stock a selection of these models.

| I got em and I like em, When I show them to friends in my display case, they think they look fantastic. When they pick them up, they can not believe the weight. I have around 18 total 1/72. The stand is not super strong so you need to be carefull, but in its orange info on flat black they look real good to me. Also the price until now has been low, most of mine cost under $25.00, many under $20.00 which makes them the best bang for the buck in my opinion. I am also not stuck on 100% accuracy, and many of the models they have done , no one else will ever do, for that alone they deserve an award. Biggie | |||||||||||||

| Re: Wanted advice on IXO's I'm pretty happy with their line of Japanese aircraft in 1:72 (I have all but the Grace). A few individual German models are in my collection as well. But my IXO collecting has otherwise ended entirely after getting burned on a couple of them. If Corgi, HM or Dragon made a similar model of any I already have I would sell them in an instant and not regret the decision to do so. That being said I would have to be included among those who have them as filler. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Wanted advice on IXO's Some of the IXO 1/72nd line of aircraft is pretty nice. I just like the fact that they put out some of the more uncommon aircraft. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Wanted advice on IXO's Yea, I dont care if a few parts are not perfect, I do wish the gear was a little nicer, but for that fact I generally display these on there very attractive stand, gear up, flying. But as far as accuracy from a few feet all there models look great to me. I like the Russian, Italian, French and Japanese Birds just fine. Biggie | |||||||||||||

| Re: Wanted advice on IXO's I own all the Japanese warbirds and these Luftwaffe birds: Henschel Hs.129, He162 Volksjager, He219 Uhu and the Dornier DO 335A-1. I couldn't be more happier! I will keep these in my collection for now until someone makes a better one especially the IXO German warbirds listed above. | |||||||||||||
