Altaya Adds More Planes To Its List

I just checked the Altaya site ( Altaya.fr ) and noticed that the list of upcoming 1:144th scale Bombers Of WW II has expanded again. In addition to the Nell, added a while ago, the list now includes a Maryland, which will be rather small, in French colors and, more interestingly, a Whitley, which will be a respectable size. I continue to believe that planes such as the SM-81 and possibly a C-46 will eventually pop up on this expanding menu.

The Marlyand does sound pretty interesting. Just curious, has there been any talk about them putting out 1/72nd scale models again.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

I keep checking my sources on this with keen interest, but so far there is nothing to report. I think that little will happen until they are farther into the current Bombers Of WW II line. When a new 1:72nd scale series moves into its development phase, I expect it to focus on smaller planes such as fighters of WW II a la the old Atlas 1:100th scale series or a redo/upgrade of the recent IXO series---or they may do jets. At this point, however, this is just speculation.

Not kidding about the Marlyand being small. Looks like a wing span of 5.11 inches and a fuselage length of 3.89 inches for 1/144th scale.

Re: Altaya Adds More Planes To Its List

This is great news, especially with the Whitley being added, but when the hell are the first release models arriving in the USA? (Condor, Halifax, Ju290,etc...)
