New Pictures Of Upcoming Altaya Betty

Just saw these on an eBay seller's site. Not bad.

That's gorgeous. Thanks for the heads up, Ed.

Re: New Pictures Of Upcoming Altaya Betty

As can be seen from these pictures, the most obvious flaw in Altaya's Betty is the lack of continuity on the first segment of green camouflage. It doesn't go all the way down to meet the undersurface gray on either side of the model. This, of course, is easily corrected ,as are minor omissions such as missing side windows, unpainted air duct openings, etc. Still, I am very impressed with the level of detail on these models and can readily forgive most of their missteps. I am eagerly awaiting the Cant Z 1007 and JU-290, which are on their way to my retouching station.

Great pics!! I think this Betty will go well with the "Big Bird" Betty I already have.

Looks like there is a bit of dihedral in the horizontal stabilizers too,

Looks that way, however I think they can be readily bent down to a horizontal plane.

No doubt that you can correct it. Paint oops looks a bit odd too, but after seeing your work on the Emily,,,, will be looking right in no time.

I just thinking the same thing do you have any other "Big Bird" planes? I have the Betty with the white stripe on the tail and the full set of Vol. 2 planes.

This Betty looks pretty good and I already have the FW-200 Condor from IXO in the same scale (1/144). I wish it was in 1/72 scale though. I built the Betty in 1/72 scale back in the 1970's and it wasn't any bigger (that I remember) that a B-17, though I could be wrong.

Your right, Betty had a 81ft wing span where the B-17 was just a bit of 103ft for a wing span.
