My Beaugfighter arrived two days ago and even though it's still in the box it looks terrific. I usually wait until I have three or four models before I set up the camera, but it looks so good I may break out the digital any moment now.
I think you meant closeups of the model?

I did a bit of research on the "Whispering Death" and I couldn't find any reference to rocket-firing Beaus in 1944 having the little "V' ariel on the nose. These were usually accompanied by other aeriels on the outer wing l/es at an earlier period. Has anyone seen a photo of this particular aircraft so equipped?

Other than that, I really like it; it looks correct and is a great addition to my RAF collection.

I cut the antenna off of mine. I believe there was a gun camera there on the little spot where they have the antenna. I'm too lazy to go get all of my Beaufighter books out right now

Finally got ahold of an IXO Beaufighter I preordered a long time ago that was sent to an old address. I've got to say I'm impressed. Got the thing for 22.95 plus 8.00 shipping, and for the money I don't think its possible for anybody to make anything remotely similar. You get a lot of airplane for the price, and though the gear up option is not there, the thing really looks good to me. My only other gripe is the fact that the props are pretty difficult to get to sit right, and can probably easily break if mishandled. Still, this thing really looks magnificent, I had it on the table next to my Corgi Banff Strike Wing Gray Mossie, and I've got to say, they made quite a pair.

I agree that nobody but Corgi will likely do a Beau, and IXO's pricing on this one is virtually unbeatable.

Thumbs up I share general enthusiasm...

for this particular model, for me the best IXO after the Defiant !

The landing gear has never been a pb to me, but the crude, empty, and very visible cockpit was.

So I removed the canopy, repainted the cockpit and put the pilot from a Corgi P40 at the controls.

Surprising how big this Beau is, compared to Corgi's Mosquito !

I really like mine. Agreed the lack of a gear up option is unfortunate but heck I certainly can live w/ that especially for the price, I paid about $25 for mine, which I view as reasonable.
I am most frustrated w/ distribution of IXO product. It seems so hit and miss here in the western US. I see you all talking about some of the Russian fighters which I have never even seen a pic of let alone in person!
While I'm at it though the Beaufighter is one of my favorite IXO's. "Why JC" I hear you asking, "what might your other favorite IXO's be? Do tell". Well since you asked: Ki-43, this little fella is such a nice change of pace from the same old Japanese green or grey paint jobs, and looks great next to my "Flying Tigers" P-40's (This was one of their more common opponents in China, not the Zero which it was often mistaken for). Also the HS-129, very cool, and the HE-219. The 219 is fairly simple but... I just love that plane! It looks like some sort of predatory bug!

Yes, same here! I have the Beaufighter and its a pretty decent die-cast overall, if you look past the typical IXO's flaws. I have the Ki-43 and what a neat scheme. Just the the Ki-63 "Tony" and very hard to find too! Had to give my left bag-pipe for it but..."call me a unic and gimme my "Tony".

I've got three IXOs sitting side-by-side: the Beaufighter, the DO-335 and the Heinkel 219. In my opinion, these three issues I have represent the best IXOs I've seen so far. I have George, Frank and Oscar in the hanger and they are also well done, but not quite as the same level as the first three I mentioned.
