Re: Where would the hobby be without IXO??

I'm not sure I have anything to offer other than what has been said above. IXO makes planes that no one else ever will. They can put out one livery to a mould when the other companies can;t do less than six to make a profit. Hence the fact that Hobby Master, Corgi or anyone else will ever be able to do a DO335 as IXO have done, or the other late war "Luftwaffe 46" moulds that IXO has produced. They may not be perfect, but most of the IXO's that I have are great little birds and well worth the time and money.

Anything for a weird life.

Re: Where would the hobby be without IXO??

Despite some early turn-off's from Altaya/IXO in their P-38 and Mosquito .... .... I'm pretty happy with most of them, though a few I'll like better once I can repaint them. There's even a few I still want. Anyone got a Mig-3 they'll part with?

Smile Re: Where would the hobby be without IXO??

In addition to what has been said, I've experienced exceptional customer service from IXO. I'm very happy with my models.

PS I have a spare He 219. Wouldn't mind swapping for a Hs 129.

Cool Re: Where would the hobby be without IXO??

As much as we complain about the overall quality of IXO models, we often overlook their huge accomplishments. IXO was/is the only company willing to take a risk on WWII warbirds unknown to the general public. Of course this is mainly due to having a magazine accompany the models which are readily available at European newsstands; Nevertheless, IXO showed how viable these unknown birds are to the collectors. Because of this other manufactures are jumping on the bus- Corgi has plans to make a ME110, HM has one ME110 on the market with more to come, HM has the P39,etc I am glad that finally most of the manufactures see there is life after the Spitfire, 109, and P51.

Anyway, just a thought

My thoughts to a tee, i myself applaude i x o for getting the other makers off there B*T

Post Re: Where would the hobby be without IXO??

I use the IXO range to fill in the gaps like so many collectors I only have two so far the He 219 UHU & the He 162 Volksjager ( Corgi or HM please do these ) & no matter how poor they seem compared with the market leaders they certainly beat my pathetic attempts at building plastic models....now if only they would do a 1:72 Gloster Javelin

Re: Where would the hobby be without IXO??

Actually I just bought HM Bf 110 and I am satisfied but it would have been cool in IXO Juniors paint scheme

HM could do the Bf 110G-2 of II/ZG 1 "Wespen" [second formation], Italy 1943. I'd buy one.

Yeah me two, IXO helps me fill those 1/72 spots that no other company has done yet, since I only collect in 1/72. I was also able to get a He 219 Uhu and He 162 and i did just in time. Unfortunately not the Raiden

Re: Where would the hobby be without IXO??

Unfortunately I bought the He219, oh dear!

I think it was some ones attempt at finger painting!

However the Defiant , is not bad and I also like the Skua and D0335, well no one would make any of those in a million years.
I do sometimes wonder why I dont get back into model building, I could make all of those rare birds from kits.

OK I admit it I am too darn lazy, and of course they wouldn't be diecast.

Oops ,I just counted 8 Ixos in my cabinet, how did that happen?

God Bless America.
