My Atlas Arado Ar.234

This is probably the best of the Atlas bombers.

Re: My Atlas Arado Ar.234

Very nice and thanks for the great picture. What scale is this in? I still have a Dragon 1/72 scale model 15 years ago I built and love it.

The Arado is the only one on the series that is not 1:144 scale. It is 1:97 scale. My only take is that the master model was built in 1:100 scale not taking into account that the shrink factor for Zamak is 3%. Hence they ended up with a 1:97th scale model.

Re: My Atlas Arado Ar.234

Scale Aviation Modeller International had some interesting pictures of a new Arado Ar.234 kit coming out this year. MDC is going to release a 1/32nd scale Ar.234 kit this year and it looks big, but not as big as the 1/32nd scale Vulcan Bomber put out by Heritage Aviantion though (That one looks like it could be used as an end table.).

...And I thought you were my friend! Seriously, that's a nice Arado. What happened to the issue with the V-2 piggy-backed to it???

So far, all I can find out about the upcoming Altaya Arado in 1:72nd scale is that it will be in very, very short supply as it is part of some special promotion that's different from the way the 1:144th scale planes are being distributed. I still plan to get you one if I am able, so wish me luck.

Let's not get confused!! Epapazian's picture is for the Atlas model. #35 of the "Bombardiers et Geants d'Ciel" (Bombers and Giants of the Sky) 1:144th scale series distributed by Atlas of France. This series has been out of production for a number of years.

The anounced 1:72 Arado with the piggy-back V-1 (not a V-2 , that would be some dangerous monster!) will be part of the new Altaya 1:144 "Bombardiers de la Seconde Guerre Mondial" (Bombers of the Second World War) series currently distributed in France.

D'oh!

So if I'm reading your statement above correctly, will the Arado w/V-1 piggy-back be distributed by IXO Jr. as well??? Please clarify. Thanks.

It is hard to say. IXO has not traditionally distributed the bonus models released by Altaya, such as the D-Day P-38 and the 10 repaints distributed only in France up to now.
