Now that is the paint scheme I like to see on the Defiant! Your defiant looks really sharp, nice repaint job.

Re: Altaya IXOS Defiant

This was very nearly a great model from IXO, it is spoilt because all the details are painted on, ie panel lines, none in the casting itself, shame.

As we can see on no4mkit beautiful repaint, there are some nicely engraved panel lines on the Altaya/IXO casting. Where did those decals come from no4mkit?

Re: Altaya IXOS Defiant

Thanks guys. The Defiant was a casting I couldn't wait to get my hands on after reading some of the exploits of Defiant units in the Battle of France and BOB. I haven't read much about their use as night fighters but as a fan of the role I had to have one for the NF shelf and a spare for the repaint. One day I'd like to give the nightfighter a makeover too

Pulqui - the decals are from the FCM Battle of Britain set (HB72-01) though all you get are Sqn codes and serials, no national insignia, so those came from the Eagle Strike early RAF set mostly. And actually, the "X" code was a bit large so I borrowed slightly smaller ones from the Tally Ho RAF codes sheet (72018). This set has black serials too so you don't need the FCM set at all really (luckily I bought it for 5 or 6 of the liveries it provides for!)

One thing with repainting these Altaya/IXO's - you need to give them a REAL good wash first to get rid of all that oil!

Re: Altaya IXOS Defiant

Great job on the repaint! What causes all that oil on the IXOs?
