IXO HE-162 Anyone?

I seem to recall a post which lamented the difficulty in finding any IXO HE-162s---probably IXO's best effort--for sale. If anyone's still interested, check eBay seller, Toys And Hobbies Collectibles. They have it listed as a "buy it now" at $28.

Re: IXO HE-162 Anyone?

I would wait for the easy model 162 since the IXO model, in my opinion, is of poor quality.

Re: IXO HE-162 Anyone?

I have the IXO He-162, and while I don't regret buying it by any means, it certainly is not their best effort.

Curious to see what Easy Model will come up with. I'm biased towards metal, but accuracy is also paramount.

Re: IXO HE-162 Anyone?

Hi

I have the Hobby Boss version of the Easy Model He162 and that certainly looks good. I also have the IXO and wouldn't discount it. Some joint lines around the engine mount but nothing you wouldn'y expect from IXO.

Re: IXO HE-162 Anyone?

Hello, col! Welcome to the forum.

And you're right, I wouldn't discount the IXO Salamander. It's just that IMHO, some of their other models, such as most of their Japanese fighters, are somewhat better. But I still like mine. I just wish I could get one in 1/48, that's my real problem. Not likely any time soon...

Welcome col yup jump in the waters nice and warm.

I couldn't get my hands on the IXO 162 but then I remembered that somewhere in the attic was a Revell model I built many many years ago so I went up there and dug it out and put it on display.
It needs new decals and its a bit battle worn but it will suffice until some one makes a 1/48 162. (now that would be cool).

I also found a battered Airfix Do217 in several pieces , I am wondering if its worth the effort to try to reserect it or maybe build a new one.

Its amazing what lurks in attics waiting to be found, including enormous hairy spiders, eek.

OH nearly forgot, I found a 163 up there, one of Revells I think, its a tiny thing but looks sort of cool.

God Bless America.

Cool Re: IXO HE-162 Anyone?

I've had my Salamander on display for some time. Perfect, it ain't, I think the Green is off, but what do I know about Luftwaffe WW II colors. Short of running it through an MRI, checking for gaps and missing rivets, it's a good representation until something better comes along.
