Re: Pictures of New Altaya B-17G

That thing is nothing but a T-O-Y. Have any of you guys checked out the "glass" areas on it...A lot of the glass isn't even there, and what is isn't even remotely of the correct shape. The windscreen is as tall as it is wide..Is that a sunroof and ball turret I see on the top?....nice. Must've been one of those "special variants".

No, there's nothing that can be done to "fix" this one other than give it to Little Johnny down the street along with an apology.

First smartd's Hot Wheels B-17, and now this one.....and it's not even anywhere close to April.....funny stuff.

Come on guys, take a break...I know everyone's always itching for new releases but let's show a little bit of rational discernment here ...Don't act like TopHat at closing time for goodness sakes...

Re: Pictures of New Altaya B-17G

Awesome! I thought the land seemed a bit more "cheery" lately. Now stay with us a while and spread glad tidings and cheer, OK!

Razor sharp as always, Skunky

With my knowledge of B.17's, I took ONE look at the 'windshield' & thought "Gagging"

Looks like if someone had ACTUALLY taken the trouble to see a REAL one..............????????

On the strength of that 'blunder' alone, I'd relegate it to 'Toy' status...........

Makes Corgi's effort look like a Rembrandt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(seems a shame, as 'Glasswork' bluders aside, the metal-work side of things seems ok

That alone should be your new signature. I am not a fan of this line, and they just reminded me why.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

This may just be a case of WSOS or Way Stand Off Scale. It you stand way over there, it does not look that bad.

Re: Pictures of New Altaya B-17G

On a scale from one to ten - looks like a negative 4. If you're that desperate for a 1/144 scale B-17, stick to Corgi or Dragon's offerings. I've had both at some point (don't have then now) and thought they were okay for such a small scale. These don't look anywhere as nice. Won't be able to judge by holding one as the only way that will happen is if I buy one and that's definitely not going to happen! I've finally sworn off buying any more IXO models along with Witty models. Saves me lots of money and sanity!

BTW - nice to see that you are still with us Mr. Skunky!
