A very interesting, but ugly, brute if you ask me. 'course, no one did, but I give my opinion freely! Don't think one will be landing at my airfield, unless it was for a VERY reasonable price.

Re: Your thoughts on the Dornier DO 335A-1 Pfeil

Boy, looking at pulqui’s video, I had no idea whatsoever how HUGE the Arrow was. That monster was almost as big as a B-17! Well, not quite, but it was HUMONGOUS.

I almost wish somebody could talk me into reviving my IXO collection and buying the Do-335, but it ain’t gonna happen. I appreciate it that IXO issues a bunch of fringe warbirds that nobody else produces. Some are even passable, actually. But for my money, well ...

Gort, even though I no longer collect 1/72 WWII Warbirds I can still recommend the IXO Do335 - it's well made (fit and finish) and looks good (not to mention it's a heavy piece of diecast).

Like you, I thought naw, not interested, that is until I found it at a local hobby store and bought it on the spot! You have to see the actual model to be able to appreciate its unique history, design and presence - all I can say is buy it, as I doubt very much that you'll be disappointed .

Thumbs up Re: Your thoughts on the Dornier DO 335A-1 Pfeil

One of these in 1:48 scale would look great sitting next to my Ju-52.

That would be a huge plane in 1/48 scale. Like a Catalina in 1/72 scale.

Besides being a huge plane this was super fast for the day as well and would out run a Mustang. It is actually a cool looking plane I think too!

Among the few decent models from IXO, are in my opinion 3 german planes : the tiny He 162, the Hs 129 and the Do 335.
And the "Pfeil" is certainly the most interesting of the 3 !
On mine, I have painted some details, added swastikas, repainted the cockpit and put a spare Corgi's pilot in : lovely !

I now have all 3 of the above including the Heinkel He 219 "Uhu" nightfigther. Hobby Master announced they'll probably do an Me-110...hopefully they'll spit out
a nightfighter version with Wolfgang Schnuafer's mount to compliment the Uhu and Dragon Me-262 B2/A1 nightfighter as well.
Do you know if IXO did an Arado Ar-234? Man, I'd love to have this bad boy in the collection as well!
