Need feedback on He-162 Volksjager

Hey guys,
I am considering picking up the He-162 "People's Fighter", as no one else makes it and I love this bird..
Anyone care to throw out some reviews on it if you got one? How about some close up pics? Thanks!

Thumbs up Re: Need feedback on He-162 Volksjager

FlyXwire, I have the He-162 and I'm pleased with the model. The scoring is very well done, considering the builder. However, I did have some difficulty in getting the landing gear doors to fit properly. Some Elmer's and patience will do the job. The nose probe and the antenna went in well, they just required a little widening of the holes. However, one big "WATCH OUT"; The rudder was put on with spit and I had to re-glue the piece in place. No swasis, but you knew that.

I'm in the process of photographing my hanger, and I'll move the He-162 up in the rotation. With luck I'll get it done tonight. Bottom line, it makes a nice addition the my Luftwaffe hanger.

Here are some pictures. A nice model - the colours look OK (maybe a bit bright?) but who else is going to make one?

If you don't mind plastic Easy Model has five different HE 162 liveries listed in their new catalog. Could be a while before they arrive for sale because it is a 2007-2008 catalog....

Re: Need feedback on He-162 Volksjager

I think this model is a great addition beacuse it is unique. As was previously stated, the glue on the tail is weak. I also received mine with the rudders detached.

One other positive: I found that the landing gear doors on this model were the same shape as the openings. I had no trouble glueing the doors in the up position to make mine an in flight display.

Re: Need feedback on He-162 Volksjager

I got one recently and for an IXO it is not so bad. Mine also had detached tail fins ( easily fixed with crazy glue ) and aside from the usual complaints about overdone black line "weathering" and a minor error on the paint job ( I believe the forward rim on the engine should be yellow ) , its a good addition for a collector looking for greater diversity.

I'm glad I've asked for feedback as you've all done well to nudge me further in acquiring this model. I know I can depend on you guys so, thanks again to all! It's been
very satisfying!

( I believe the forward rim on the engine should be yellow ) ,

Actually should be RED. I have the IXO version as well as 2 1/72 scales from plastic kits I built some 15 years ago. It's a great little model and looking forward to adding to the group when the Easy Models arrive also. Recommend this little beauty, despite some little fussies.

Re: Need feedback on He-162 Volksjager

I like mine quite a bit; I just wish there was a 1/48 version. That's a subject begging to be done in a larger scale (it's so tiny...).

I'm just grateful to IXO for even bringing this plane to the diecast market.
