Re: New IXO Releases - Buying Any?

I do not know much about this brand. There seem to be some unusual planes that nobody else has issued. If I see them in a shop, in which I may examine them, perhaps I may buy one of them.

Re: New IXO Releases - Buying Any?

I'm in minority, but poor assembly quality and third grade materials are an ultimate put off for me despite an appealing subject matter.

I have most of them and like them all, granted some are better than others in fit and finish and accuracy, but you will never see some of these from any other mfg, and they dry up quick and are available when 1st released for a few weeks at a very fair price usually.

We dont all have the money to pay $50.00 a model like Gaincorp, wait they have issues too and decals??? YUCK, Give me IXO anyday.

Re: New IXO Releases - Buying Any?

I may be picking up a couple. I was going to get the P-39, but Hobbymaster is going to make one. I will still get some of the japanese stuff to fill in my collection.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Sometimes you can get a great bargain on these on ebay. I've just won 2 P-40Ns. One was for $12.00, the other $11.05. I don't like the markings (Flying Tigers has been overdone) or the coloring (way too dark), but it's a P-40N and I'm too impatient to wait for someone else to make one. I'm going to repaint one this weekend so it will be more to my liking. Some IXOs are good. You just have to hope you get the right ones.

Re: New IXO Releases - Buying Any?

The Japanese fighter are pretty good, especially the Ki-43 Oscar. I'd say if you don't have any IXO planes start with the Oscar.

Excellent suggestion planenuts. I've got the Oscar and it really is an accurate model. Too bad when IXO rereleased it they didn't change the markings. I would have bought another one.
