Strange no ?

How come IXO always have little pictures of their planned releases? Stinks to say the least! They need to hire one of our forum members to take a good photo shoot instead of one of those underaged sweat-shop workers throw-away camera shoots!

Re: Altaya collection not finished

Yeah! Lots of tiny little pictures but no planes. I'm still dyin' to get hold of one of the new desert camo. Bf-110s, but no dice. Nothing on Ebay, nothing at my IXO retailer in Spain. Zip, Zero, Zilch. I'm starting to think its a hoax. If they are selling any of these, these must be sending them to little street corner vendors in out of the way European towns. Re: Altaya collection not finished

I love the paint scheme on the Wildcat. However, I consider the panel lines over-inked...

Are they molded panel lines? Or graphic panel lines? I haven't ever seen and Ixo up close.

The panel lines are recessed molded and then inked. Double whammy if you ask me. Since I use my non-Japanese IXO models for customizing projects, I don't mind the deep lines. They still show up under a new coat of paint. The Wildcat mold wasn't one of their best efforts. I've got the EasyModel version with these same markings and for a plastic model, it beats the IXO mold by a country mile.

The panel lines on all Altaya/IXO models are lightly recessed. More like a shallow valley (no sharp edges) than an indentation. The black panel lines are tampo printed, not inked like on Hobby Master models. If you repaint one of these models the panel lines will be only apparent.

By the way Dewoitine boy, the large antenna on the Wildcat should go on the middle position, behind the cockpit. On early Wildcats it was swept forward about 20-25 degrees. The other two should be replaced with a very thin wire, as they were hardly noticeable on the real thing. That is if you want to customize your model a little!

Re: Altaya collection not finished

So, is Altaya really finished with producing anymore new diecast moulds??? I don't mind if they do an Arado Ar-234 or an Me-163 'Komet'.

The same factory produced the AR-234 in 1:144 scale as part of the Atlas magazine promotion a few years ago. Despite the lack of detail, it isn't too bad and is part of my collection. Ebay sellers like cristiantq sell planes from this collection, however I haven't seen the AR-234 listed recently
