Re: Altaya collection not finished

as far as mainstream goes I believe it is possible they will only do these. I also think it is possible they could/will offer some re-paints as they have already done so with the Stuka,fw-190 and P-38. If we have seen some newer pictures of other re-paints like the 110 then things could be promising unless of course those were special editions for some other circumstance. I suggest to all to get the more obscure molds you like just in case. Worst case you e-bay or trade/sell them later. These planes will most likely go way up in value when the line does cease. Hobbymaster is doing the 110 and I suggest waiting as it will be far superior. I have owned 2 Altaya 110's and sold both in anticipation of better examples. Still the Altaya 110 is a first and rather decent for the money. The Tony is in the top 5 IMHO.

Got their first release, I liked it. Not judging it, but will await for another from other sources. (is that like waiting for the Robert E. Lee?)

Re: Altaya collection not finished

I got the Me 110 mainly because of the wasp nose art. It looks great next to the Corgi Bf 109 with the wasp nose. There is a great painting (can't remember artist) of the Wespen Zerstorer 110's flying over a formation of German tanks on the way to the opening battles on the Russian Front. Other manufacturers may make the 110 but will they make it with the wasp?

Found the painting: Panzer Drive by Michael Howard

Re: Altaya collection not finished

That looks more like a Mk.VI, much like the first IXO Mossie release. Does anyone know what squadron this one is?

The P-40N is out. Look at item 200087587825 on eBay. Looks good to me!

Re: Altaya collection not finished

I've got both P-40N and Me-110D-3 from recent edition of Altaya.

P-40N is in painting of 112 squadron.
Paint passed positive test with comparison with all documentation I have.
I have also Corgi P-40D from the same squadron, and IXO colours looks more realistic.
Corgi AA35204 is a nice model, but according to Humbrol paints too light and looks too sweet.

Me-110D-3 is in Africa Corps colours, quite close to original Gelb shade.
IXO used the same model as previously despite the fact that Wasp paint was Me-110E version.
If we remember that IXO/Altaya models are sold in Europe for 10-12€, which makes less than 15$, we cannot complain.

The only weak point of those two models and all IXO planes are plastic parts.
It is better to display them on the support with undercarriage up, or replace those pieces by new plastic parts from scale models.

Nevertheless I recommend to buy those two models.
I have some photos, but I can post them to the forum due to my short seniority
Best regards- Pawel
