PIXJ06-21 NEW!
Blackburn B24 Skua Mk II Fighter/Dive-Bomber
RAF "Fleet Air Arm" Kirkwall, Orkney Islands January 1940
Limited Production | 7.5" (19.1cm) wingspan
A 1/72nd Scale Diecast model from the Junior series by IXO Models

Skuas are credited as the first British aircraft to shoot down an enemy aircraft in the Second World War: a Dornier Do 18 flying boat was downed over the North Sea on September 26, 1939 by three Skuas flying from the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal. On April 10, 1940 16 Skuas flying from the Orkney Islands sank the German cruiser Königsberg in Bergen harbour during the German invasion of Norway. This was the first large warship to be sunk by Allied forces in the war.

Talking Re: PIXJ06-21 Blackburn B-24 Skua Mk II

I'd really fancy one of these. As always I try to get what no-one else makes from IXO. Trouble is I have to wait until they're released here and that could take ages! Thanks for the pic mhackl.

Ebay is the place its where I bought mine, (from a Spanish fella, a nice chap and good dealer), but I dread to think what the shipping will be.

Re: PIXJ06-21 Blackburn B-24 Skua Mk II

Would definitely be something different in the collection and I don't see anyone else making one in the future, but I'll pass. The "panel lines" like on most IXO offerings kill it for me.

I'm suprised kabel'

I think they've managed to get away with it on this one, (panel lines).

Looks pretty accurate to me, as well.

I'll buy one, via the 'Bay - BUT not from Spain.

Sod that for a lark.

Well, Well, Well, Dudes....... that was (approx) ONE calendar year ago........

My opinion is STILL the same........... & I managed to buy it in the same District where I live = RESULT.

1250ships posted the 'Best' pictures of this 'rare' IXO-bird - but, they were rather 'clinical', as often "Hi-res" shots w/lighting are......

I've taken mine (nowhere near as good) with natural-outdoor light & a cheap 'point & snap' Digital-Camera.

I think it gives a FAIR representation of the model, & the 'panel-lines' that all too often come in for 'Flak'.......

(p.s. I DIDN'T bother splitting open the bag which contains the Aerial-mast, for the central-cockpit !!!!!!!!)

As usual, ignore the date - they were taken on this Sat' (Sat 16th Feb)

Re: PIXJ06-21 Blackburn B-24 Skua Mk II

I like the Blackburn Skua so much I picked up two of these models. It would be nice if IXO put another one of these out in a different paint scheme.
