Great link. I like that 1/144 Skywarrior.

That is a nice looking model of the Skywarrior. It has some really good looking detail for such a small model. So this may sound dumb, but are the folks that put this one out the Cafe Reo thats in green? Never heard of that one before.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: New collection altaya

Sorry for the delay in replying.

The Skywarrior was only produced in the white/cream version shown as CafeReo only produced it as the series special, so alas what you see is what you get!

It is unlikely that they would reproduce it in a future series ....
That said occasionanly they do produce random versions of previously issued kits for the WonderFest shows, but do not hold your breath!

Your only other long shot is if one of the other companies decides to do this item, it is not unkown for different producers to produce itemspreviosuly seen before - maybe a "J-Wings" series might do it?

Re: New collection altaya

Hi again, Last week I received a questionnaire from Altaya they are considering two new 1/72nd aircraft partworks of 40 models, one was helicopters which they sent last year the other was for a range of fixed wing aircraft from biplanes to early jets, some of them looked to be re-paints of their earlier series, I did suggest early jets would be nice instead of WWII yet again, but I did say I would buy any they issued, if you want to find my models do a Google search for "Altaya" etc. I hide on Specialist Auctions and ship regularly to the U.S.A. as a collector myself I am always willing to help other collectors, selling is a sort of hobby so I am not trying to pay my mortgage by charging exorbitant prices, sorry for the plug but I hate to see collectors ripped off, all the best Brian

Very interesting, airhead1845. Your pictures show only a sampling of the planes they are considering. Would it be possible to post more of the pictures. I am particularly interested in the types that many of us have been clamoring for---IL-2, MC-202, Tony, Tojo, F-80, etc.etc. Thanks.

Yep. Both are pretty bad as was the F4F and quite a few others. However, these mass producers continue to make improvements while still taking cost reducing shortcuts. I'm keeping an eye on Altaya, Atlas, Italeri and IXO to see if their next lines will give me a MC-202 , Tojo or Yak-9 without those hideous inked panel lines, oversized insignias, crude add-ons, etc. In that event I'll buy and repair them while waiting for HM or Corgi to do them right.

I'd agree they made some stinkers, 1948, most notably the P-38 and Mosquito. To be fair though, many of their efforts on types nobody else has done (Defiant, Hs129, Oscar, MC202, Tony, He162, etc. etc.) are not bad in my book. In a lot of cases, a good casting is let down by a sub-standard paint job which can be hard for a lot of us to overlook. For me, those usually will get a repaint.

Re: New collection altaya

I agree. I hope they improve because of the aircraft they choose to make
