Altaya Biplanes

Guys I am in a bidding war and care not to pay huge money for a 1/72 bi-plane BUT if any of you can find one of these (besides the one I am bidding on) PLEASE PLEASE get it for me. I am willing to trade or pay cash. These appear to be available only in Europe but my Altaya connection is unavailable there. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Altaya Boeing PT-17

This collection of biplanes is distributed by Planeta DeAgostini, not by Altaya. I guess we will need a new heading on the Forum.... There will be lots to talk about There are a Sopwith Triplane, SE 5A, Sopwith Pup and what looks like a 1 1/2 Struter also coming

Re: Altaya Boeing PT-17

Before the Altaya/IXO WWII Series came out, the same product was made available by Planeta DeAgostini through a magazine subscription. If and when the biplanes become available worldwide, I would guess it will be through Altaya/IXO as well. If you give it a bit of time I imagine North American distributors will have them.

Re: Altaya Boeing PT-17

I emailed them the other day, using the "contact us" function on their website. I inquired whether they'd sell their airplanes to North Americans, and if they'd accept credit cards or Paypal. No reply from them so far, but I'm not surprised as my Spanish is terrible/nonexistent. Anybody else try to contact them, let them know they have some potential customers over here?

Re: Altaya Boeing PT-17

Altaya, DeAgostini and DelPrado will not sell outside of their countries. I have tried several times with negative results. Once I even argued that they should consider Texans as we were part of Spain for a long time. They would not listen

That's brilliant. It just goes to show that no matter who you ask, Texas is still like a whole other country...
