no sadly that is the correct position. I have this plane and although funky looking that is the way it sits. It is a combination of heavy model and Japanese aircraft design.

Cool .....But i can't read French or what ever it is.
Looking at the Pic's you can tell the gears well on there.
I have mine on my stand with the gears up anyway.
