Re: IXO Shipment

It wont use much metal, this is a tiny aeroplane.[quote=Tundra04;24024]
Clutch and Merritec,

Has anyone seen the Salamander yet? I would really love to get one of these, but again, I'd rather go without if IXO will not offer us the "basics" that we get with most of their aircraft. (i.e. Optional gear and not TOO many glaring goofs.)

Try badcataviation.com. He has the salamander posted for pre-order with a picture. If you want it, I'd go ahead and pre-order it though. According to his site he will only get 12 of each of the upcoming releases!!!

Re: IXO Shipment

Ye its says come on sucker buy me and then you will be hooked on 1/48 stuff. Lets not forget the B52s in 1/44 scale that beckon from afar!!!! I am in therapy at the moment its free of charge because thats what Lorraine job is. Complusive behavioral disorder is evidently what we all sufer from. The treatment is straight forward enough. it consists of me sayiny P40s and then she squeezes my fingers between a pair of pliers. IT COULD BE WORSE!
How 'bout that non-IXO P-40 out there that's still calling out to you, jim?...........jim?.........jim?.........jim?

Re: IXO Shipment

My humble opinion on the Stuka is I hate it, its dreadfull. So is the MS. The Skua is OK though and the Beaufighter is not too bad. I think I said before that I was surprised how good the little Wildcat is. He219 is the worst piece of metal ever put together but I think I was unlucky and got a really bad example of that one. Ixo really are very variable in all departments. Yes the prices are good but if only they could try a little harder and then I think we would all be buying them like crazy after all as has been said many times they do make the more obscure types that we all want.

Re: IXO Shipment

It's the little model brand you hate to love ...or love to hate, I'm not sure which it is. All of the Japanese stuff seems to be pretty good.

Re: IXO Shipment

Jim,
Hey there.

I'm not worried so much about metal content as I'm worried about getting a landing gear mould that is moulded into the open position. I want a real opened or closed option.

As Admin says, their Japanese birds are good. If the rest of their planes matched that, we'd all be more satisfied.

Re: IXO Shipment

With you all the way on that. Maybe if we keep shouting at IXO they might raise their game. I wonder if anyone from IXO looks in here now and again??

Re: IXO Shipment

Jim,

Why didn't you tell me what Lorraine did when we met at Elvington? I could have taken "the cure" right there and then in the NAAFI!!

I quite like the Skua, a simple model of a very simple but significant aeroplane. Mine sits midst its a group of its protogeny, the mighty Buccaneer, in my display case.
