Re: IXO Shipment

There was mention of an MB-162 earlier, I don't believe that is correct. The plane actually coming is an MB-152, from what I understand, and the pictures I have seen of the plane. Maybe DiecastDirect can shed some light on this issue. Also what do you have to say about the MB-62, will IXO be producing it and other larger aircraft?

Sorry for the duplicate post, must of been submitting at the same time.

Re: IXO Shipment

Clutch and Merritec,
Hey there.

As soon as I logged off for the night it occured to me that the MB-162 MUST be a miss print and that we would get the MB-152. A fairly signifigant French single engine fighter that I have seen depicted in similiar livery to the other two French ships that IXO has offered. You all are too quick for me.

1250ships,
Thanks, for the update. I thought I remembered an internal boy for the Grace.

It looks like we are going to get at least 3 IXO's of decent to good quality (Relative to other IXO planes.) that are going to be worth the purchase.

Has anyone seen the Salamander yet? I would really love to get one of these, but again, I'd rather go without if IXO will not offer us the "basics" that we get with most of their aircraft. (i.e. Optional gear and not TOO many glaring goofs.)

As for the Val and Jill, I agree that they would be great (And overdue) additions. IXO seems to be kind of random in what they release to the U.S. market. Plus, perhaps if we wait long enough, someone like Hobby Master will pick up on the Val and Jill?

Re: IXO Shipment

There has been some mention of the heavier aircraft being done by IXO. No production has been set.

As for the MB-162 there has been mention of them doing it in their heavier line-up, as for now the correction is that the plane arriving is a MB-152. Thanks Cluth_Fighter & Merritec.

Re: IXO Shipment

Just a quick note:

I sent a message to DD about the Bloche MB-162 4 prop Bomber.

It was a typo, and is actually the Bloche MB-152 single prop Fighter

And here it is, together with it's French siblings the Dewoitine D520 and the next one the Morane Saulnier M.S. 406.

Re: IXO Shipment

Like all the Altaya models I have the landing gear are very weak. I haven't got around to gluing them in and until I do that the plane will not stand on its gear. Mine is stand mount right now. Haven't got around to photographing mine either.[/quote]

Mine is standing on it's gear as we speak, and no glue used!

Re: IXO Shipment

When the gear works on an IXO, it works fine. It just looks cheap and haphazard. I've got several IXO's on their displayed gear down without glue.

Of course, if you want to do the glue method just in case, a drop of Elmer's white glue will do the job and is easy to remove afterwards.

Try badcataviation.com. He has the salamander posted for pre-order with a picture. If you want it, I'd go ahead and pre-order it though. According to his site he will only get 12 of each of the upcoming releases!!!

Re: IXO Shipment

Just arrived at Jims place, IXO Beaufighter, Skua and Wildcat. Yes I know I said I wouldnt buy any more IXOs but the flesh is weak and I did want a model of the Beau and Skua, The Wildcat was a make weight. Now to eat humble pie. The Beau is not bad and the Skua also is OK ,Wildcat was a surprise its very good for an IXO. So to sum up, for the money they are OK and I can live with those horrid drawn on lines. (bought all three on ebay from Spain). The Salamander is a must have especially now we have one at Duxford and the new owner is now giving it a good coat of looking over. He reckons that just maybe he will get it in the air!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW, the FW190 has taxied at Duxford.

God Bless America.
