IXO Raiden

I just received my Japanese Raiden. It's a good looking plane but, by the time these planes came out during the war were sumo wrestlers flying, they could fit three pilots side by side if this model is correct.( my daughter still has my camera she is sending it pony express).Does anyone else have one yet? Raiden

Re: IXO Raiden

I have one and yes it was extremely roomy looking in the cockpit area. I have also wondered if this and the scale of the model is correct.

Re: IXO Raiden

I had a plastic model of the Raiden when I was a kid - I think the fuselage was on the portly side in order to accomodate the large radial engine, kindof like the P-47 Thunderbolt. Don't have my references handy but that's what I remember.

Re: IXO Raiden

The Raiden had a wide fuselage. Look here:

Re: IXO Raiden

I have the Hasegawa plastic kit (unmade). The IXO model is almost exact in scale. The cockpit on the plastic model could fit in the diecast plane. I'd say enjoy this one as it is accurate.

Yes, I agree with my man Louie! I am very pleased to have this model as well. Looks great with the other IXO Japanese planes too (I have the KI-63 Hein and 3 others). IXO's best planes I think are the Japanese ones.

Re: IXO Raiden

I love the IXO Raiden and I do "give a Jack" (no pun intended) about this model alot. You just need to do a little brown touch-up paint on the engine exhaust pipes (as with the Ki-84 Hayate as well) and he's good to go.

Re: IXO Raiden

I have to agree with you all it is a great looking plane, as all there Japanese planes and like Mike said "who else is going to make it? ". That's one nice thing about IXO/ Altaya they like to look "outside the box". No pun intended since most of the Altaya planes come in a blister pack with a good booklet about the plane itself, if only I could read Spanish.....
