Just got the Cobra, and it does sit properly on the tricycle gear.
It looks like they canted the main gear struts about 30 degrees aft to accomplish this. But hey, that's exactly what I was going to do if it was a tail sitter.
The nose gear fits into two holes at the front of the fuselage. The nose gear doors have a peg in them to attach to the fuselage. Both the gear door peg and nose gear strut want to be in the aft hole! Looking at the pictures of the Cobra on both the Mule and Cat sites, they both just left the nose gear doors off. I cut the peg off and glued the doors in their proper location. Another approach would be to drill a hole in the gear doors where the peg was so the gear strut could go through it and into the fuselage.
Oh, and Jim, there were a few drops of oil on the top wings.
