Thumbs up IXO Avenger

I was just playing with my IXO Avenger, which I like quite a bit. I gotta tell you they must use iron or something , this thing weighs a ton.

I noticed it is not perfect , a nick here and there, non perfect pain near the nose on the underside and it made me think, do I still love this plane.

The answer is yes, I doubt the real thing was perfect for long, I bet within days of use the real bird had nicks and dirt, probably even paint issues now and then on brand new out of the factory ones.

Plus you can not even notice the issues unless you really look for them on the IXO.

Someone on here posted his was not perfect, I am not sure they need to all be perfect and I bet anyone else who releases this will ask more money for less weight and not as nice a stand either.

Re: IXO Avenger

I think you'll find the Hobby Master ones will be much nicer, and possibly even cheaper than the IXO Jnr! But if you like it... that's what counts!

Re: IXO Avenger

From the postings and pictures I've seen, it doesn't look like a really bad model. Heck, if there were no other options, I'd rush out and buy this one too. But for the money, I want to wait and see what HobbyMaster sends our way. I have a feeling that these IXO Avengers aren't going to "fly" off the shelves like IXO models have done in the past. So if I really want one, I'm pretty sure they will be available.

And if they do fly off the shelves... apparently they will "fly" back on in 6 months are so, judging by the recent waves of reissues!

Re: IXO Avenger

Any reissues I have seen are priced close to 29.99, so even as a re-issue they are going up, I was going to try and get a Typhoon but missed out again even at 29.99?

Re: IXO Avenger

Nuts man! That's plain crazy for an IXO. I'll be waiting for Hobby Master. I've got two IXOs on my desk that just landed today, the Bloch 152 and Macchi 205 Veltro. Nice enough, is it just me or are they toning down those panel lines?

Re: IXO Avenger

I have the Macchi 205 as well as the 202 and think they are both fine diecast. IXO/Altaya seems to be blasted a lot but who else makes these models? Would have nothing but Zero's if I waited for Japanese planes from the other manufacturers not to mention the Italian and Russian models that I have in my collection. I like to display the different combatants and don't really feel like waiting years for the other companies to start producing them (if they ever will).

Re: IXO Avenger

Absolutely agree with wmosner. I have a dozen IXOs now, including 1 Russian (Polikapov), 2 French, 2 Italian, 3 Japanese and there rest German. Missed the Henschel, got two He219s. Thinking about it maybe I should see if I can swap the Heinkel for the Henschel.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
