Re: IXO Avenger

I think that they might have used a warbird as a basis of their study. The shades are off some but, I didn't think it was that bad.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: IXO Avenger

That is the exact aircraft I am trying to get. THat was one of Bush's aircraft. I think Corgi and Hobbymaster are both making this aircraft. I think they will get the shades spot on.

Re: IXO Avenger

Much as I want an Avenger I see no need to buy the IXO until the Corgi/Hobby Master ones arrive. If by some miracle the IXO is better I'll buy one then. But with competition coming why not wait?

Re: IXO Avenger

From an English guys perspective (who loves U.S. Navy stuff), I hope they don't bring out an X/2 George Bush T.B.M.

Interesting though it's been - the subject has (by now) been hacked to death (certainly over here).

We've had a (real) flying example, attending all the airshows, in those markings over here, 10 (or so) years ago (that was sold & went back 'Stateside)........

The example (still) hanging from the roof of the American Air Museum, at Duxford, (hardly suprising, as the official opening ceremony, was conducted by the Ex-President himself)........

also Accurate Miniatures realeased a George Bush version in 1/48th.

Here's hoping that NOT all future T.B.M.'s are released as X/2 - however great or famous the man was/is/continues to be, (with his son as current leadership of the U.S.).

C'mon wakey, wakey - there ARE other T.B.M. schemes to choose from !

Re: IXO Avenger

I do want to get a Barbara, but I would also like to see one of the Midway Avengers as well. There are alot of different paint schemes that would be cool. The RAF also used the Avenger.

Re: IXO Avenger

  • The IXO/Altaya Avenger model is not too bad. The color is bright blue with little interior detail.
  • It is very heavy model with weak main landing gear. If you display it on its gear it becomes unstable...it shakes..and eventually will fall apart.
  • The funny thing is that I could not locate a hole where the display stand could go in...so it has to be sitting on the landing gear...
  • I do hope that Hobby Master release is not going to have this problem.
  • I'll keep mine till the other release then I'll sell this one.
Greetings to all from Canada...

Re: IXO Avenger

The hole for the stand is in the bombay.
