Thumbs up Re: IXO Avenger

Just got the TBF today, along with five other IXOs, and it looks very fine sitting on top of the bookcase, where it joined an F6F, an F4F, an SBD-3, and a F4U. Go Navy. I had trouble with the grear down set-up and, on reflection, would have approched the assembly of the landing gear
differently. That is, attach the support strut to the main strut before puttng the gear in place. Otherwise, looks good. The two Ruskies, the two Japanesse and the Frenchy look good also, but they're still awaiting assembly. All things considered, I think IXO does a fine job on odd planes and for a good price.

Re: IXO Avenger

I just got mine today as well. I have to say that I really like it! The gear got me as well.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: IXO Avenger

Told ya you would like it.
I have mine gear up on a stand so the gear was not a problem for me...
But i'll tell you what..Having that sitting next to my P-51 Mustang makes it look big and i got the Typhoon too and it was great with no flaws too.

Re: IXO Avenger

I got a box on my front porch this morning big enough to hold Lindsay Lohan, you can imagine my surprise when I opened it up and found a bunch of diecast airplanes in it.

Re: IXO Avenger

Okay, I was trying to be really good and have a positive attitude. I went to the Flying Mule looking to buy the IXO Avenger. As I looked at this model, my resolve simply melted like an ice cube in the noon sun on a summer day in Texas. Is it me or does this model look flawed somehow? The colors seem to be truly awful. I've never seen such a light blue (the darker shade, though the middle shade is way off too) on any of the color pictures I've ever seen. Should be darker and more towards a navy/sea blue. Even the plane's general profile looks off. Anyone have pictures of theirs?
