Re: Skyhawk of the Angels

The RNZAF flew the A4 mainly in green/brown camo and/or green/grey camo schemes.

I'd go for this one...

Re: Skyhawk of the Angels

I agree with "combat machines first", but at some point I wouldn't mind seeing a Blue Angles A-4

You certainly wouldn't get any arguements with me if they were to do that scheme! It is definitely representative of the typical scheme of an RNZAF A-4. They were a common sight in the skies over where I live - the Skyhawks were based at RNZAF Ohakea, which is about 20km's from my home.

Re: Skyhawk of the Angels

Wasn't it Lindberg that also made an A-4 around 1/48ish that had the open access panel to see the engine. I remember building that one too. Oh, those were the days when we didn't worry about what color it should be or weathering, etc. In fact I didn't paint most of mine. I couldn't get them built fast enough so I could play with them.

Yep..Had that one too...A4D (or represented one at least) in white plastic. One of the very first models that I superdetailed ("painted" the tires with black Magic Marker)..Hey, you didn't happen to have the Lindbergh F-8U with the retracts and ejecting pilot did you?....Ooooops, this is an A-4 thread isn't it?.... ....Sorry, everybody.

Re: Skyhawk of the Angels

I've seen both the A-4 and F-8 in action; would love to see both (along with A-6) in a good 1:48 and 1:72 representation, Navy and USMC combat colors first. After that, colors of other nations who flew it and of, course, the Blues.

If someone would make a 1:72 and/or 1:48 USMC UH-34D, I could get 3000 sold in a month for a fair price. I have a 1:48 wooden one, but oh, for a diecast!

Re: Skyhawk of the Angels

I hear you. Thaat would be awsome. THere is a heavy haul helicopter place that comes into our airport once in a while with an S-58. I always think of Full Metal Jacket.

Re: Skyhawk of the Angels

I would absolutely love to see the A-4 made. I have been praying that someone would produce quality models of the the early jets. I would like to see everything from the P-59 Airacomet to the Phantom II. I really want to see the Navy aircraft like the FJ , Panther, Cougar.

These are the aircraft that my generation grew up in love with.

Now I'm just getting excited, now I'm gonna have to go buy something!

Re: Skyhawk of the Angels

Let's not forget that there are also Blue Angels and Agressor squadrons liverys for this aircraft.

Sorry, but I really excited about the prospect of this aircraft(era) being produced.

Re: Skyhawk of the Angels

I would be all over an A-4, as well as an A-6, F9F, and a P-59.
