Re: Grumman F3F-2 arrived today.

It would be nice if HM comes out with the doors for these models but I'm not buying another one to get them. What kind of customer service is that, we screwed up the first 2,honest mistake, but if you buy the 3rd or 4th the proper parts will be included. That's not right either. If HM is to come out with the gear doors then they should be shipping them out to the people who have contacted them.

I agree, kabelace. Much as I like the model, I cannot afford to buy another one.

The canopy replacement on the Bf 110s worked for me, but I can't pass up a shark mouth.

Sending the F3F gear doors directly to collectors that request them would my preferred solution.

Re: Grumman F3F-2 arrived today.

Good news! Hobby Master has posted photos of their next F3F-2, HA7303, on their web site, and the stated release date is 1 November 2008. It's described as ex-2-M-16 in its 1942 wartime paint scheme.

Pictures of this one do look good.

Unhappy Re: Grumman F3F-2 arrived today.

Had a chance to look at the F3F-2 today... and despite my love for '30s planes, I couldn't bring myself to buy it.

I know it's just me, but 1:48-scale models just look more clunky than 1:72-scale models, IMHO. If it had been 1:72 scale, I would've bought it to sit next to my Sea Gladiator. Instead, I bought the other Galer plane that's out now, Dragon's new Wildcat.

So Hobby Master, here's my plea: Please keep bringing out inter-war planes -- but in 1:72!

I collect WW I in 1:48, and WW II in 1:72, so I can kinda go with either for "between the wars" birds.

Re: Grumman F3F-2 arrived today.

Tend to favor the smaller aircraft in 1/48th scale.

Re: Grumman F3F-2 arrived today.

I would be game for the folks at HM to put out replacement parts for their F3Fs, similar as they did for their Bf 110 models. Even brought up suggestion with replacement rudders for HA7005 and HA7006. Earlier back quite a few of us were fairly persistent with nose and tail assembly on their upcoming Wespe Bf 110. Folks at HM indicated model would be corrected for these changes (Nice when model company representatives actually correspond to their customers.). So the difference in reaction between Hobby Master and Corgi could possibly have something to do with how they treat their customers. Folks at Hobby Master exceedingly responsive to their customer base, and well, good luck even getting a response from Corgi. I have sent in several email information requests to folks at Corgi,,,,, hmmmn yep still no response.

Hi,

We are still examining the possibility of adding the gear doors. It is very delicate and not easy to attach (but we will try the best).

For the doors, some clients are not so happy that they need to buy a new scheme to get the new parts (BF-110).

On the other hand, our distributors find it hard to handle the sending of such small parts to clients on an individual basis.

But we will keep you guys informed of the progress.

William

Re: Grumman F3F-2 arrived today.

Thank you for the info William, it would be a shame if such nicely done subject would be left with such omission- no matter delicacy, and even if it means that it cannot be placed without, for instance gluing please produce it

Thanks, William. Even if I don't get my doors, you folks are the best, IMHO!
