Re: Israeli Mirages

Yep if HM did a Mirage III then silver French/IDF & camo IDF schemes would be great models to start with.
But seeing as HM has given us the Mirage 2000C first it will be intersting to see what other schemes they pull off.

Re: Israeli Mirages

Picking up on some of the comments on a thread about the A-4, it may be that manufacturers are vary of doing Israeli liveries for PC reasons, since the Israelis are stigmatized in many parts of the world as "bad guys". This idiocy doesn't seem to carry over to the Soviets, Chinese Communists or the North Koreans , let alone the Nazis, whose crimes against humanity seem rather well documented. So far I've bought one Witty F-16 in Israeli livery, plus a tiny Model Power Kfir. I sure hope that Hobby Master gives us an A-4 and Mirage in IAF colors and doesn't shrink from this as a concession to the hypocritical PC crowd..

Re: Israeli Mirages

I think one of the reasons you don't see a lot of the Israeli stuff is simple marketing, there isn't that big of a demand for it. Take the plastic industry for example. Hasegawa released various Israeli schemes for their model line, but ONLY after releasing about 20 other schemes prior i.e. the Israeli P-51.

I think we on this forum have a high demand for it because we appreciate the history and the accomplishments of the Israeli pilots throught the years. The usual man on the street probably could care less.

The problem with the doing these type of schemes from a business standpoint is basically, they are boring. They tend to be the same color, desert camo, and lack "colorful" attributes. I remember for the longest time, you could barley tell one squadron from the other since they didn't use any type of distinguishing marks. Please don't take my comments as a slam against these schemes, I would LOVE to see more Israeli stuff and will gladly show my appreciation with my wallet!

Re: Israeli Mirages

I just attended the IPMS convention in Annaheim CA. at the Annaheim Marrirott. They had one table deicated to the IAF Models, conversion kits and three or four books on the IAF. one book on the F-15 alone. The concention goes on until Saturday evening. $15.00 for a day pass. crusing thru the vendors is well worth it. Twobobs decals are fantastic.

Cool Re: Israeli Mirages

Very nice F15 there fly. I really like Israeli schemes. I only have one Israeli F16 but am looking forward to the HM A4. Hopefully someone gives us the F4Es and Mirage IIIs.

If this constant barrage of "We want our Israeli AF Spooks and Mirages, and we WANT it now!" subliminal threats, err threads doesn't make HM sitdown and take notice, I don't know what will!!!
