Egyptian MiG-21

My favorite MiG-21 release. Great model and colorful. Having assembled the gear down on my first MiG-21 I decided to just put this one on the stand. I'm running out of room anyway and the stand helps with that. Comes with drop tanks as well but I went with the all missile loadout. Probably should use a little Elmer's on the missiles as one is already loose in the photos.

The MiG-21 is a mould that doesn't get much talk around here but it is really, really well done. I might have to pick up a few more especially as they are often out there at very reasonable prices.

Re: Egyptian MiG-21

Yes, I like HM's Mig-21s a lot too, but I think that on this Egyptian release they missed a great chance to have issued it in 1973 Yom Kippur colours. That would have been the most historically significant issue they could have made, and it would have looked great next to HM's IAF Skyhawk or even better with the forthcoming Israeli Phantom. An EAF in 1980s colours looks a bit bland for me. How HM ever came to decide this is a source of wonder to me. Maybe a 1973 Egyptian Mig-21 would look too much like the already released Iraki Mi-21, so they felt people may not buy it and went for that which looked different.

Wink Re: Egyptian MiG-21

Great pics as usual ships. I like the Mig 21 and have the first two. I will get more in time but first have to prioritise those molds I do not have examples of.

Re: Egyptian MiG-21

Beautiful pics! How could one go wrong with a piece like this? It really enhances and rounds-out a collection even if you're not a huge fan of the MiG.

Re: Egyptian MiG-21

Great pics of a cool warbird! I have the Egyptian MiG-21 too and I'm glad I got it. I'm no fan of the MiG-21, but this one is just too hard to pass.

Re: Egyptian MiG-21

This is a beautiful plane. I have been eyeing it for a while, and hopefully soon will add it to my advisaries collection. And just like Saeta said, too bad they did not do it in markings of the Yom Kippur War War.

Re: Egyptian MiG-21

I think the HM Mig 21's are outstanding. I've got several, but this livery is the only one currently on display. Great bird, great pictures.

Re: Egyptian MiG-21

The Egyptian and Iraqi camo'ed MiG-21s are my favorites as well. I'm still hoping that HM will do some Syrian MiG-21s for my Witty IAF Eagles to shoot down!
