Mirage 2000 Prototype

Most of the time I want operational planes. I don't buy any of the Tiger meet schemes or even aerobatic team aircraft. I made an exception for this one. To me it looks better than any of the operational schemes.

Cool Re: Mirage 2000 Prototype

Those are the best pics I've seen of this one. It's the only one that I've really been tempted to get.

Re: Mirage 2000 Prototype

This is the only one that has tempted me as well. I have this one on order with Aim Higher Jets... Jeff/Jim... Have y'all gotten your re-stock of these yet?

Excellent pictures!

Re: Mirage 2000 Prototype

These "modern" (to me) HM fighters are real standouts...the Mirage 2000, A-4, and F-4 are very attractive. I'm also looking forward to the next Tiger Meet version, coming out this month.

Thumbs up Re: Mirage 2000 Prototype

I have always loved the Mirage and was rather disappointed with my first HM Mirage. It looked great, but was a tail sitter. I sold it off and and waited patiently for HM to make the neccessary corrections and BAM! HM came out with this beauty. I saw it at Big Guns and each time I visited the store found myself picking up the box and finding it difficult not to buy. I usually only buy planes in military liveries, but when I finally did pull the trigger on the Paris Air Show version I knew without a doubt I made the right choice. The pictures posted really only do it partial justice. In person this model is spectacular. The bugs with the landing gear have been corrected and it is stunning from every angle. The paint scheme serves only to accentuate the beauty and balance of the design. This model fighter is an anchor of my moderns collection and on my "never to be sold" list for sure.

I give this air show version 2 thumbs up, way up.

Funny that we both have the exact same reaction to this model. I think the only other aircraft I might consider in a test/prototype scheme would be an F-16. Probably because as a kid I had a plastic kit of the F-16 in that red, white, and blue scheme. The Witty Edward F-16 is a possibility.

I also like the looks of the Greek Mirage. Interesting scheme and even better if it is going to come armed with Exocets.

Lightbulb Re: Mirage 2000 Prototype

And after the Mirage 2000B/D/N, I hope HM will issue a 100% authentic French operationnal single seater, but a Mirage 2000-5F for change (without the Durandal bombs, and Matra Super 530D AAM ; but with 4 Matra MICA, and the underwing tanks of the D/N.) like these :

Smile Re: Mirage 2000 Prototype

Very nice photos 1250, this model is not for me as much as I like it. I have the 1st HM release & have not yet displayed it. I will be displaying in 'in flight' due to the tail-sitting problem but glad to hear this has been removed in subsequent releases.

Take it out and play with it
