MiG-15 News

I read on Hobby Master Collector back in July the following: "The first releases of the Mig-15 will probably be Korean War aces and then Russian pilots." However, I couldn't find any more information, so have some questions:

1. Is HM going to produce a MiG-15?
2. If so, what scale?
3. If so, when?

The "announcement" in HMC seemed a bit tenuous, and it would be nice to get some confirmation from HMC or HM or William.

Thanks.

Hopefully William will chime in here and give us an update.

Re: MiG-15 News

Yep, a Mig 15 would make for a neat new addition. I do not normally collect jets, but do have a couple of Corgi F-86s that need to have a Mig parked next to them.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Thumbs up Re: MiG-15 News

I hope William will have something to tell us.

The mention of a 1:72 MiG-15 a few months back generated a considerable amount of interest around here.

I'd certainly buy one or more of them if they chose to develop a MiG-15 mould.

Re: MiG-15 News

Well if HM produces a FJ-3/4 Fury for the almost same time period I'd be happier. But good news for those who like these birds I guess. To bad there wasnt a better F-86 out there.

See ya all in about 15 months!!

Re: MiG-15 News

I must say I find the mig 15 to be a fascinating plane. I have the 2 matchbox ones and I love them. I would love to add a korean one.
Of course in 1/72

I love Polikarpov

Same here. I call my copies the flying colanders. Click on the picture links to the left to see why. I still get people asking about my Matchbox copies, wanting to find a copy or to buy mine. So, there is interest out there. I would definitely buy one copy EACH. This has been MY PLANE since I was in 8th grade and the teacher brought in a solid wood model painted red...what a beaut...

Re: MiG-15 News

I would have thought that the MiG-15 is as iconic or even more so than many of the aircraft that have been produced in diecast by the major manufacturers. The Buccaneer? The Lancastrian? The Tempest? The Lysander? While I love each of these dearly, I have no doubt at all that a MiG-15 would sell far better.

Re: MiG-15 News

I agree that the Mig-15 will sell out. That only leaves HM the option of producing the Mig-17 and Mig -19, due to its close resemplance.

This will squarely depend on paint scheme selection. There are two MiG-15s that are set in stone for me, "Soviet Advisor" North Korean livery and classic bare metal finish VVS one. Will I buy more depend on HM. In my opinion, HM didn't do too well with paint scheme selection for MiG-21.

Sergey
