HM WW2 pilots and DW

For information, HM WW2 pilots fit perfectly, without any amputation, in the following DW warbirds : F4U1, F6F, P51D, P47M/D "Bubbletop" (but far too low in the "Razorback").

Re: HM WW2 pilots and DW

I was able to put a Jet pilot into my new F4F from Dragon. Not the same as the WW2 Pilot but works both ways I bet.

Thumbs up Re: HM WW2 pilots and DW

Thanks for the info, planenutsfrog. I'm thinking about picking up a few packs of the US pilots for my Dragon warbirds

The Mustangs would sure look a lot better with pilots...

Yes, planenutsfrog is correct. It's as if they were designed for the Drangon P-51D, P-47M and F6F. The do work well in the P-47D razorback with about 1/8" of foam double-backed tape as a cushion. They also squeeze into the FM-2 Wildcat, sitting tall but acceptable. I found the F4U-1D worked OK, but a little cushion height helped. Thanks to HM, all my Dragon AAF and USN planes now have pilots.

Just got my first set of the HobbyMaster pilots and all fit perfectly into the Dragon Hellcat, Dragon P-47 Bubbletop, Dragon Corsair and Dragon P-51. The pilot was too tall to close the canopy in the Dragon Wildcat, so I had to slice off some of his butt/parachute. His legs stayed on, but he lost about 1/8" of his hiney. Then he went into my new Guadalcanal Wildcat just right.

The pilots were also looking good in the H.M. Dauntless and Avenger, after some lower limb amputation for each rear pilot.

I'm gonna have to order another couple of packs to fill the rest of my U.S. pilotless planes, including several Dragon P-47 Razorbacks.

I agree! I've got to order more packs as well. Anyone hear anything regarding HM releasing British, German or Japanese pilots? Could REALLY use them too. Also while I'm at it, how about some 1:48th scale pilots? Could use lots of these.

Re: HM WW2 pilots and DW

The pilot figures are great, hopefully HM will come out with some British/Commonwealth pilots and some Axis pilots also. As for the 1/48 pilots that would be nice as long as HM fixes the scaling. The 1/48 figures that they have included with some of there aircraft seem to be very small, more like 1/60. I placed one up to a 1/50 Corgi figure and the HM figure looked tiny in comparison.
