| Does anyone know for 100% certainty the Hobby Master A-10A Thunderbolt II (shark-nose) 23rd TFW is a limited edition release? | |||||||||||||

It does not come with a certificate.

| My Ritchie and Cunningham F-4s didn't come with certificates and both were limited editions, so I doubt that the lack of a certificate means anything. Again, does anyone know for 100% certainty if the HM A-10 shark-nose is a limited release? | |||||||||||||

I didn't think that Ritchie and Cunningham were LE -- far as I know all LE HM models should include a numbered card/cert.... also that a-10 is not listed as a LE on hawk's site, or the Mule, which usually notes the runs of limited releases.

| Re: A-10, 23rd TFW---limited edition? PAPPYB: Thanks. I thought William of Hobby Master said the Ritchie and/or Cunningham F-4s were limited to 2,000 each. So it appears the A-10 shark-nose is not a limited release? | |||||||||||||

Well, now I'm unsure -- so I think we need a retailer or Hawk to weigh in here (or william). ?

| Re: A-10, 23rd TFW---limited edition? This has been discussed before. What happens is that HM builds so many of a certain release and then moves on to another item and a different scheme. HM is unlikely to go back and do another run of a particular scheme. I am unaware where HM has gone back and "rereleased" a particular airplane. Whether it is said to be "limited" or not, probably all of them are limited. Therefore, even though the Cunningham and Ritchie F-4's do not have a certificate or are advertised as a limited release, in effect, they are limited to the 2000 plane production run. Instead of building more, HM will simply release Phantoms in new and different schemes. The same goes for Century Wings and probably many others as well. | |||||||||||||

| KB466: Thanks. So probably the A-10 shark-nose is an unofficial limited release, too. | |||||||||||||

| Re: A-10, 23rd TFW---limited edition? Well, HM's runs are too new to judge about the going back and producing more I would think -- but you're right in that it does seem rare for a manufacturer to go back and make more, and I think I do recall william saying something similar around here somewhere... However, Gaincorp -- for one -- has done it with its line several times, and Hornby could choose to make more Memphis Belles if it wished... which would irk a lot of folks you bought one lately I'm sure! I also believe FM has gone back to old molds/schemes more than once, too. | |||||||||||||
