Me110 with schrage Musik

I've been trying to check from pics of the HM Me110 on the web which types have the oblique cannons (schrage musik) fitted. From what I can tell in the Me110 these were fitted in the rear of the cockpit, evicting the rear gunner, and protruded just above the canopy cover.

I can't see any indication on the current HM Me110s as to these being fitted on the nightfighter versions available, though I thought they were present on at least one. Are they, and if so on which one, and is there a pic available if yes?

Thanks,

Gary

Re: Me110 with schrage Musik

The third HM Bf 110 has the Schrage Musik weapon layout on it.

Re: Me110 with schrage Musik

Sorry if I am a bit ignorant on the ME-110 subject, but those guns were fired by a rear gunner correct?

The reason I ask is because of the comment about evicting the rear gunner>

The rear gunner wasn't evicted, he serviced the weapons. The pilot fired sighting upward.

Re: Me110 with schrage Musik

My mistake, given the size of the installation I assumed the rear gunner was left behind, more so as I understand the rear MGs had to be removed.

Was the pilot able to move the guns all around or just up and down?? Would be a bit tough the deal with those and fly and fire up front don't you think?

The schrage Musik guns were fixed in position.

Bluenose B,
the German pilots had no difficulty using this weapon to devastating effect, most bomber crews never knew what hit them.

It begs the question , why didn't the Lanc have a couple of guns slung underneath?
