Ritchie Phantom: How do I get the pilots in?

Just as the subject title says. How do I get the pilots to fit in?

Try as I might, I couldn't get anyone into the cockpit despite using tweezers to get into the small area. I didn't want to use too much force for fear of breaking something. Anyone know a good trick in getting the pilot figures into the cockpit?

Anyone also have some difficulty in closing the rear canopy? Mine won't close completely down to be flush with the forward canopy.

If you carefully push the flightstick a bit to the instrument panel, you can create a little more room. It should be enough to get the pilot in.

I didn´t experience problems with the rear canopy, so I can´t help you with that one.

Good luck!

Re: Ritchie Phantom: How do I get the pilots in?

I had no problem with the back seater,

For the pilot it was very frustrating. Tweezers and a dental tool to gently move the stick forward. Even with those it took me several gentle tries. I didn't think I would ever get it in but eventually it went. (opening for sex joke - who will take it?) Keep trying and be patient. That's the only experience/advice I have.

(I haven't spent a lot of time trying - but I also can't seem to get a pilot into my A-4 "Gladiators" Skyhawk.)

I'll take it:

Bah! I tried to fit the pilots in again. Can't do it. The more I try, the more I feel like I'm gonna break something sooner or later.

With rear canopy not closing well, I think I'll just superglue it shut and never attempt it again.

Don't superglue a clear part! Use white glue.

If every thing else has failed, cut their legs off.

Oh yeah, that's right. Thanks for reminding me!

That's not a bad idea. Maybe I'll get a set of HM pilots and do exactly that.

Re: Ritchie Phantom: How do I get the pilots in?

The only pilots I have that DON'T have their legs cut off are Century's. Sometimes you have to slice their butt off, too. (hey, it's better than having the canopy pop open from their helmet pressing against it)
