Wink Captured 1/48 Spitfire

No, it's not an actual 1/48 captured Spitfire from HM. If I remember it correctly it was said that it would be hard to make a more true to scale pilot for the 1/48 Spitfire because of the tight confines of the model's cockpit. Well, I was able to fit into the JEJ Spitfire cockpit a pilot figure taken from a Carousel 1/48 FW-190D. That's the basis for the thread title aside from making it eye-catching.

Given a little repaint of the figure I think it can pass off as a British pilot. It wasn't that difficult to fit the pilot in the cockpit given the rubbery consistency of Carousel's pilot figures. Has anyone else tried this before? Here are some pictures:

Re: Captured 1/48 Spitfire

Looks just fine,Vagm ! I too have done the same thing,I have the Carousel 1 pilot from my Flyboys Nieuport transition training in my HM NZ Buffalo,he looks great.. Just a bit of paint should get your Oberleutenant loooking proper for R.A.F. duty. I really like the C1 figures for their flexibility, you can work them into other A/C without trimming most often.

Nice looking Spitfire you added to your collection. Have yet to pick one of these up,,,, starting to give it some thought.

Just look at that Spit boys. What are you waiting for? I'm looking to get the Maridor high back one too. So many options with the Spit, high back, low back, pointed wing tips, clipped wing tips and any combination thereof. And what with that massive Griffon up front!? Come on!!!!

You're welcome to come and visit but my collection is nothing compared to others in this forum. I only have around 50 odd-pieces of diecast aircraft.

Yup, STC carries all of the HM 1/48 Spitfire.
