Dioramas coming soon

Hobby Master Collector is reporting that dioramas will soon be coming from Hobby Master. My first impression is that they look pretty good. It makes sense. We get requests for these all the time. We actually looked at commissioning one but the cost was pretty high as we figured it would be pretty hard to sell 2,000 of them when we were getting started last year. I think it all depends on the accuracy of the painting and printing on the support equipment. How far will William go? (Photo courtesy of HobbyMasterCollector.com)

Re: Dioramas coming soon

This is good news! I think it would also be good if we had weapon sets which we could buy individually,so that we had various options as far as different weapon configurations are concerned.

A cafeteria option would be nice...

Thumbs up Re: Dioramas coming soon

As I dont have the first Skyhawk I will probably buy this one but future diorama subjects should have different markings than other HM releases and figures should be painted to a higher standard than those found in contamporary Hobbymasters-all in all looks very promising and I hope that the line will evolve fast-congratulations HM and thanks for listening, btw not all dioramas need to have figures. Now several propositions

A. Chu Lai Dio. incorporating a Marine Skyhawk on PSP base with Marines manhandling assorted loadout
B. Early wooden a/c carrier deck to suit Buffaloes and F3Fs maybe with deck tractor but long enough for at least two models
C. Plain grass surface for European based Griffon Spits with standard RAF power unit and fire extinguisher

Re: Dioramas coming soon

I think this is a wonderful option. I hope that they might make these available with, and without birds since I've already purchased so many of the Hobby Master releases.

Anything for a weird life.

Great idea. I've already asked for blast pens for our F4s.

Re: Dioramas coming soon

It would be nice if they could make decks/runways/aprons that were interlocking or could be joined together in someway. For those of us addicted to taking pictures of our diecast, getting good matts and backgrounds is difficult. However, a small section of matt doesn't do the job very well. Another choice would be roll-up rubberized matting printed and molded (for texture/decking/apron joints) on one side that would lay flat and take some hard knocks (with durable printing, etc.)

Sounds like a lot, but I think there is a market for that sort of thing, and many of us would be willing to fork over some good dough to get a good "ground" effect. I have shelled out a couple hunderd dollars over the last few years trying to find some good matting, including the GeminiJets 1/200 - 1/400 airport matt set and eztoys' stuff (they never did produce the promised update to their airport mat). I ended up using a rubberized mat designed for quilters -- go figure!

Anyway, just a thought.

Do you mean Vietnam Era revetments or hardened air shelters (HAS)? I'd seriously love vietnam revetments since I wouldn't have to build mine from scratch!
