Re: HM Dauntless

I think we can mention various dealers now....can't we

Old habits die hard I guess .

While not an obscure dealer to most of us they still have all of the these as of yesterday when I ordered the two I didn't have - thanks for pushing me over the edge Gort.

http://www.aikensairplanes.com/

$19.99 each which is great IMHO.

Re: HM Dauntless

Don't knock the quality of hobby master models, there gonna give Corgi a kick in the rear on detail and finnishings, what would be nice if "YOUR listing HobbyMaster" is a little backgroud info regarding the aircraft your turning out ie: Where stationed / theatre of opperations / flown by who / thier combat roll ect ect ect, the box presentation is A1 and easy on the eye, my wholesaler told me today Corgi are finding the market hard work at the moment with all these up and coming new faces which are chewing Corgi's heels, got to be good for the Collector, hehehehe.

Re: HM Dauntless

I received my Midway HM Dauntless from the Mule last Thursday, and I am blown away by it! It really lives up to all the hype. I can hear it screaming down to blow up one of the Japanese carriers at the battle of Midway.

Do have a question, however. It came with a one piece plastic plastic canopy, and also has an alternative of 3 pieces that go together. Seeing as how the middle canopy piece, that covers the pilot, is too small to slide back, one can either put it in place, which is just like the one piece canopy being there, or leave it off, which gives at least the appearance, if innacurate, of the pilot having slid his canopy back. Am I correct, or am I missing something?

- thanks for pushing me over the edge Gort.

Entirely welcome, chiefs. That’s what Hobby Master pays me for ... er, um ... wait a minute ... I mean, that’s what Hobby Master flambés me for. Oh, for Pete’s sake, I mean ... give me a second ... That’s why Hobby Master plays croquet – to score. Yeah, that’s it! I did that because Hobby Master plays croquet. There. I said it!

Its my own fault. Coming here and expecting that no one will tip you towards a purchase is like holding a Weight Watcher's anonymous meeting at Big Jim's All You Can Eat Chicken Fried Steak Buffet (no offense intended to Jims and WW members - I am keeping my disclaimers close for awhile yet).

I received them Friday and I am seeing how long I can let the UPS box sit next to my desk unopened. It is a new self-control excercise I am trying. I figure if I can go 72 hours without opening the box I'll be cured. I am doing pretty well so far... hmm, then again, that is a pretty silly idea because I've already paid for them so.... where's my pocket knife?

Bump! Anyone have a comment on my question?
