Akagi Kate Photos

A bit late to the show perhaps but here is my rendition of the Pearl Harbor Akagi Kate:

Re: Akagi Kate Photos

Your Kate looks sharp sitting on the carrier deck. Who puts out the carrier decking?

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Cool Re: Akagi Kate Photos

Very nice Ships! I've got to say that I really fancy your carrier deck.

Re: Akagi Kate Photos

Nice display, Ships. That simulated flight deck is a clever enhancement. I've got my Kate in flying mode, with those little crewmen elevated so they can see out the windows.

The deck is by Verlinden

I found the Verlinden web site, but couldn't find carrier decks. Are they carried by other vendors?

Nice photos, 1250. See you also collect Witty Zeros!

While the carrier deck does look good, that particular carrier deck is a US Navy deck-- there are very real differences. Japanese decks are available in 1/72 too-- I just don't have a link right now.

Re: Akagi Kate Photos

Here is a link from a quick google search. There were other sources listed as well. This particular outfit seems to offer all sorts of carrier decks in different scales, including Japanese.

Large Scale Flight Decks

... and no, I have no interest whatsoever in this dealer. I am merely offering this link as an example of what is available.

The service is appreciated, especially due to personal failings in how to organize a search! Love this guy's service, and he seems to be just getting started. Itching to work over his web page, though!
