Re: HM's F100D

I request a F-100C in this livery, please. I'm trying to find a better photo for the nose art.

Cavtanker, where was that photo taken? One of us must live by it and could go take a photo. We can all chip in for gas once this months contribution has been met.

Wink Re: HM's F100D

Thanks for the info. I still preferred the other scheme. I hope that does not sound ungrateful. I really am grateful and look forward to this and other F-100's. I plan to get one silver and one camo for the collection. There are just too many models of all makes on my want list have to set some limits....

The F-4 Phantom is the only modern I will buy more than two of.

Thanks William I trust you will make this model spectacular. I do hope it has some rusty seared metal near the rear but the uniform looking stripes I understand in the pre-pro are just to check the concept. Thanks again.

I wonder if Gort gets those marks around his nozzle too?

Re: HM's F100D

Louie and others,
William explained the change in an earlier post here or somewhere that I read. As I recall what William said-- he determined that the green set of markings was correct for when Col. Comstock flew this airplane. After Col. Comstock left and the airplane was reassigned, it was painted in the blue markings. Apparently, Col. Comstock is still living and confirmed all this. At least that is how I remember William explaining it. If I have any of this wrong, I am sure William will correct this. As for the markings, I like the green markings with the TAC emblem. In fact, I like it better than the blue scheme.

Hi,

Thank you for explaining this and your interpretation is completely correct.

The attached photo from the Wings of Fame also explains this.

Attached please also see the burnt mark that we will use for actual production.

Re: HM's F100D

William, you spoil us! I'm still new to this world but who else would revise this item over burn markings? Keep up the great work William and we'll keep coming back for more I might have to pick one up too.

That aircraft is at the front gate to the 185th ARW base at the Sioux City, IA, airport. The unit currently flies the KC-135R. On display in front of the base, they have all the aircraft that the unit once flew, including the F-16, A-7, etc, and several other Cold War fighters.

I'd like that scheme because that unit once was the 185th TFW, which deployed to Vietnam.
