Thumbs up Re: Pics: HA7301 - Grumman F3F-1, "Flying Barrel", USN VF-3

Not a beautiful 'swan' but well worth collecting!
Amazing how fast HM manages to surprise us with their fine creations.
I was still enjoying that wonderful F4 and now this one....
This is seriously going to hurt my bank account!
Thanks for the pictures.

Beautiful model Pappy. Are both the pilot and the bombs removable? I had built a plastic model of this plane and the wheels would retract when the prop was pulled and turned. Very cool.

Great work Hobby Master!

The pilot is opitonal -- the bombs come preattached though they look easy enough to remove if one wants...

And sorry I have trouble putting "ugly" and this model in the same sentence fellas

My thoughts exactly!

I reckon its a beautiful and iconic pre war aeroplane, I just love em.

So anyone know how much it will cost me please?

Look how nice the rigging is on that F3F....Looks good for a 1st time doing one of these in a 1:48 diecast.
Nice pictures Pappy...Now put it next to the Buff and lets see how they look together.

Duh, it's a Grumman.

I like it too!

Pappy, does it have optional gear-up/down configurations? I assume so. How well/easy do the options swap/fit? How's the canopy fit in the closed position?

More info to come later when I get to the full review -- but yes, moderately easily, and the canopy has a tendency to ride up a bit in the closed position...

I got a pretty good price from Glen at Racers Den, but he is, of course, in the States. Give him a PM and ask!

Now look at that...Looks pretty close to scale to me...
Can't wait to add one of these or two of them.
Thanks for the pics Pappy.
