Showtime 100 and other HM Re-armings

I've been having fun creating various weapons loads for some of my HM jets. After I picked up my F-4's I read up a little on Ritchie and Cummingham. The most interesting thing I found was about the markings on Showtime 100. After Cunningham's first kill a Mig-21 silouete was painted on the front fin root area. After Cunningham's second kill, that marking was removed and 2 kill markings were placed on the intake. This was done sometime between May 9 and 10. So the only mission that Showtime 100 flew in the markings depicted on the HM model was the flight that made Cunningham an ace. His primary mission on that day was a bombing one. The best guess from various sources is that the phantom was loaded with 4 sidewinders, 2 sparrows, 6 rockeyes and a centerline tank. After reading about this I decided to depict this historical loadout.
I also removed the bombs from Ritchie's F-4 so I'd have a pure air-to-air configuration. From what I gather this F-4 was one of the few combat tree equipped F-4's, so it was used primarily for mig caps.

I then used the bombs on an A-4, just to give a little variety in the A-4 ordinance. I also found some Kormoran anti-ship missles for my German F-104, again for variety. The last two mods don't have any historical significance, they are just to show different configurations in my collection.

luftwaffe did'nt use the komoran missiles used exclusively by the marineflieger.

ritchies jet would have had an ALQ-87 right pylon and a ALQ-101 pod on the left pylon below the sidewinder rails.

"luftwaffe did'nt use the komoran missiles used exclusively by the marineflieger"

I was contemplating a repaint, but that was a little more involved than I wanted right now. As I said, this was just for variety. I had too many F-104s with just wing tanks and sidewinders.

"ritchies jet would have had an ALQ-87 right pylon and a ALQ-101 pod on the left pylon below the sidewinder rails"

Can you point me towards a reference or picture for this? From what I read they sometimes only carried one and the wingman carried the other. I found a picture of "Paula" with both of these, but that was Ritchie's gun-equipped F-4. Also, any idea of a model kit that comes with these pods?

Re: Showtime 100 and other HM Re-armings

The rockeyes were from a Hasegawa F-15, I think. The TERs were from the Hasegawa weapons set.

Thanks for the help, Slammin. I'll need to buy a Hasegawa weapon kit to increase my models ordinance

Re: Showtime 100 and other HM Re-armings

Did you use the Hasegawa decals for the Rockeye's stripes or did you paint them? Also, how do you mount them? The only reliable method I've found for putting weapons on 1/72 diecast is to drill holes and use small bits of wire to pin them in place.
