The Hobby Master Takeover!!!!

Seriously!! With Dragon and Witty slowing down, century wings waiting time.....hobby master is producing models faster and faster!!! They have tons of schemes, great prices, great accuracy, good weapons, gear options, stands, pilots and oh yeah....good choices on aircraft!!!!! THIS IS SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree... it brings up competition with quality and pricing, which is great for customers

Yeah, I think there's a lot of potential for Century Wings to pose serious competition to Hobby Master, if only they get their new releases and expand their range fast enough. I'm an optimist in life, and I hope that Witty Wings and Dragon Warbirds can make up the lost ground in double quick time too.

Thumbs up Re: The Hobby Master Takeover!!!!

Ironic that you posted this thread when you did, bandit95 - the Hobby Master forum now has more posts than the Corgi forum for the first time. I've been watching the post counts for both forums for some months now, and there have been at least five thousand posts in the Hobby Master forum alone in the last year (correct me if I'm wrong). It is good to see a company that puts such emphasis on customer service & involving collectors in product development. I hope their competitors have taken note.

Re: The Hobby Master Takeover!!!!

Now if HM starts making those cold war era Russian jets (MIG 15, 17, 23, 25, 27) there wil be not doubt they rule the diecast world..............

Re: The Hobby Master Takeover!!!!

I really like how HM listens to us, the real fans. Some manufacturers like Corgi or FM are LARGE, and make money by marketting to the masses, not the collectors like us. The results are obvious - well-known planes in flashy paintjobs that the lay-person will recognize and buy. The victims in these cases are us savants, and quality in general as it is sacrificed for production volume and cost savings.

HM and CW keep volume low, and yet cost is manageable for the quality of product that is recieved. In marketting to us fans, we get more of what we want (lesser-known birds, less flashy schemes, etc.) over what will sell.

In this world, there can and sometimes HAS to be room for both kinds of model producers. I like to think of it as the difference between the guys who know where every rivet and tailcode sits on their Block 25 F-16C, versus the folks who are happy believing that the MiG-50 "Typhoon" is the best plane Greece has ever built. :P

Re: The Hobby Master Takeover!!!!

Missing in this discussion is how C1 and Eagles Int'l are being whiffed in the batter's box. We're counting on HM for so much, so many scales and requests are clamoring for one company's attention. C1 and Eagles were the new hot players.
