| Re: HM F-105 Thunderchief!!! I would love to see an Old Crow F-105, as well as the Hill AFB ones. I hope we also see the two seat Wild Weasle version. | |||||||||||||

Are you from Hill's area, Bandit?? In 1982 I was in CAP on a one week bivaouc at Hill. To this day I will never forget watching a Thud's take-off roll. It rolled, and rolled, and rolled, and rolled, and went out of sight on the horizon still rolling. I never did see it lift into the air, but I could sure hear it!

If an "Old Crow" F-105 came out before an "Old Crow" P-51D (in 1:72 I mean) I'd be angry enough to spit nails... but I'd get over it. I agree with mustangdriver - imagine if they release F-105Gs and some F-4Gs? We'd all be in Wild Weasel heaven

| Re: HM F-105 Thunderchief!!! Along with F-4's, I have always had a soft spot for the F-105 and the other Century fighters. Part of it was the time I spent watching them take off and land from Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. Kirtland was a very busy transient point for these planes. It used to be that you could get within a few feet of where these aircraft would taxi by going to and from the runway. Great times as part of a misspent youth! Believe me-- the F-105 could put on a show when taking off! However, the most impressive memory I have of the Thud occurred around 1966-67 (I'm dating myself here) at a summer home my family owned in Colorado. Our home was in a narrow twisting mountain valley which ran along a small mountain river. One day when we were outside, we heard a roar coming up the valley. Suddenly, from around a bluff, there appeared a very low, very fast and very loud F-105. He was below the tops of the hills on each side of the valley and appeared to pass only a few hundred feet above our heads. As he banked and turned to follow the valley, he put on quite a show. He quickly disappeared from sight around another ridgeline although we could still hear his roar receding in the distance. Even to my young mind, it all looked to be quite dangerous, however spectacular, and I still wonder what he was doing and what was going on. I doubt this activity was authorized, but what a show it was! | |||||||||||||

| Re: HM F-105 Thunderchief!!! I agree with mustangdriver - imagine if they release F-105Gs and some F-4Gs? We'd all be in Wild Weasel heaven Whilst talking to William Liu, I did mention an F-4 Wild Weasel amongst other things, and he did seem particularly keen on the idea. We didnt really delve into much more detail on the F-105 though. I've thought of a million more questions i'd have liked to have asked, but my mind went a bit blank at the time, so i kicked myself all the way home. | |||||||||||||

| I've been waiting for Thud for quite some time now. First for me would be a bombed up SEA scheme. The challenge with all these new releases is the rising cost of diecast and postage coupled with a worsening exchage rate. I may not be able to get everything l want. | |||||||||||||
