Could it carry a M-48 Patton? That's quite a lift for helo.

Re: What is the next transport/utility helicopter Hobby Master should release?

Why have the S58/Wessex and Chinook on the list? Corgis Wessex is just about perfect and their Chinook has lots of life in it yet more of both these to come I think.

You are absolutely correct, sniperUK. What with the Corgi S58/Wessex mold being one of their newest, let's hope they pump out some new releases soon.

The Chinook is also a good mold. It would be nice to see some new releases and later variants, however. Corgi hasn't released a new Chinook since 2006.

It's not on the list, but I'd kill for a CH-54 Tarhe! It was the US Army's heavy hauler which dropped BLU-82 Daisy cutters making instant landing zones in the thick jungle. It could carry two UH-1 Huey's at the same time, any tank in the US Army and almost any USAF aircraft except monsters like the B-52 plus SEA containers filled with goodies. It had an adaptable pod which could carry a mobile command and control post, repair shop, blood bank, air conditioned surgery room or 45 combat ready troops! Amazing contraption!

That is a good point - it's not too late for it to be added. I'll ask for the Army Mule option to be replaced with the CH-54 Tarhe.

You never know what Corgi has in mind for these models.

Re: What is the next transport/utility helicopter Hobby Master should release?

I've asked for a couple of changes to be made that won't alter our results so far.

For the record: Easy Model has decent pre-built releases of the CH-46 Sea Knight (D, E and F variants), the H-34 Choctaw, the UH-60A Black Hawk in 1:72 scale. However, as they are not diecast, I would not imagine that most members would care. Their releases are always very light (obviously) and they always seem to have a glossy finish.

Corgi has a UH-60 Black Hawk (dated mold, no new releases since 2006), CH-47 Chinook (good mold, lots of potential for development), and the H-34 Choctaw (new mold, lots of development potential there) in 1:72 scale. If Corgi overcomes its recent troubles and their (new?) development team decides to focus on their excellent CH-47 and H-34 molds, I would imagine we'd all be very happy.

Forces of Valor has one UH-60 Black Hawk out in 1:72, but seeing as Forces of Valor doesn't exactly churn out a multitude of releases of the same mold, we can't count on them to release any other variants or unique liveries.

Another one that is not on this list, but would be cool, is the Kaman HH-43 Husky.

ANY of the -53 variants would be fine with me. However, an MH-53 from Hurlburt would be really nice!

Thumbs up Re: What is the next transport/utility helicopter Hobby Master should release?

Sorry I didn't add the CH-53 to this poll - there just wasn't room for the big sucker!

I did add it to the naval helicopter poll though... I voted for the older "Jolly Green Giant", being a sucker for Vietnam War subjects. The Sea Stallion rocks too, though. I hope we see one of the big companies release one in the future (I imagine that in 1:72 it would take up as much room as a B-17!).

Voted for the sleek and mean UH-60 Black Hawk.

Re: What is the next transport/utility helicopter Hobby Master should release?

What!!!!! No S-55 /H-19 Whirlwind?????? , Anyone here ever seen “Battle Taxi” when you where growing up? and what about the S-51? , Lots of Air Forces & Navies as well as Airlines flew both of them so there’s loads of color schemes , Hueys, Hinds, H-60s are nice but how about some 50’s-60’s Choppers, the H-21 in USAF red & yellow Artic Rescue markings would be nice or one of the Edwards AFB support H-21s w/ Day-Glo orange would be great as well,
Cheers ,

Re: What is the next transport/utility helicopter Hobby Master should release?

I'm desperately in need of carrier based helicopters to join my navy jets from CW and HW.
Corgi made a few, but I think that HW can do a better job.
CW could surprise us with some prop driven planes like a Skyraider and a Hawkeye.........
