Panels or no panels — that is the question!

Question: Given a choice, would you prefer see-thru panels on the backs of Hobby Master boxes, a la Matchbox and Witty? Or would you rather they leave good enough alone?

This isn’t an earth shaker by any means, but I like to see a model’s undercarriage and ordinance and fuel tanks without having to physically remove it from its box. Just another way to enhance one’s viewing pleasure of Hobby Master's itty-bitty masterpieces.

If it doesn't affect the pricing, it wouldn't matter to me (I don't have any boxes out). Would be nice for the guys that do display models out in the open.

The current type of box is fine by me the clear panels tend to make the box weaker & less durable IMHO

I can see why you'd want 'em Gort but I prefer not to have them -- standard boxes I feel protect the model better in a number of ways. I would prefer HM to up the quality of its cardboard packaging, which is very flimsy and low grade compared to others -- particularly with the price points some of these 1:72 fighters are hitting. $50+ for the phantoms, for example.

Yeah, Pappy---I have to agree on the low-grade cardboard. I'm afraid Corgi's got HB licked on that score.

Re: Panels or no panels — that is the question!

I prefer see-through panels provided it does not increase the model's cost, so I can't vote yes or no without that caveat.

Re: Panels or no panels — that is the question!

As soon as I get home I take my items out of the box. but like most people have said, if it doesn't effect the price I don't mind see through panels. It would let me look all over the model when I'm in a hobby store instead of coming home and looking at it online. Plus online pictures may not always be the final product we buy at the stores.

Current packaging fine by me.

I didn't vote, as neither option applies. I really do not care. Whatever is cheapest works for me.
