Well, that does it ...

Well, that does it ....

I’m a confirmed Hobby Master addict. I admit it: Hobby Master reigns supreme in the pantheon of diecast manufacturer greats.

They came a bit late, but my Cunningham F-4 just arrived along with the Kate and two A-4s, and all I can say is, it doesn’t get better than this. I mean, IT JUST DOESN’T GET BETTER THAN THIS!

Now I’ve got to find a way to finance this new addiction. (Come on, Lady Luck, 'cuz ah's a-gonna Las Vagas!)

Just a question: Looks like somebody smeared Vaseline over the Kate's engine cowling. Not a lot; just enough to mimic engine oil leaking all over the dog gone thing. Is that normal? Did anybody else get an oily Kate?

Or did some Pearl Harbor defender get a lucky hit–?

Re: Well, that does it ...

I received my Kate a couple of weeks back, and it did not have any oil on it.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Well, that does it ...

No oil on mine as well. Either a HM employee came back from lunch with dirty hands and didn't wash them OR a Pearl Harbour defender DID get in a lucky shot.

I believe the answer you seek is here: Oily Models? Straight from William.

Thanks, Folgore! That makes me feel better. I wonder if I can wash it off or something. I don't dare remove it with paint thinner or turpentine. Maybe a little suds and water?

Re: Well, that does it ...

Suds and water work fine on my oily IXOs Gort no problem and no staining afterwards so you should be OK with this method.

I did get into to some trouble from the river authorities however for the mile long oil slick after I cleaned up my IXOs.
Some fish died and more than a few birds needed cleaning .

God Bless America.
