Finally, our close connection with collectors helps us to gain added insight into the needs of the collectors.

Now, that is well spoken!

Re: HM Interview

Interesting interview. The line that derhamburgerjung quoted, "Finally, our close connection with collectors helps us to gain added insight into the needs of the collectors" is clearly true, and is a great summation! Thanks for posting the interview, William.

Re: HM Interview

I found this interview most interesting, William. I agree with you that it is pointless to put out new versions of planes like the P-51, BF-109, etc. that everyone else has already manufactured. Your interest in exploring more detailed models in 1:32nd scale, while not my preferred direction, will certainly appeal to other collectors.

I realize that you may not wish to show your hand, due to competitive reasons, but a number of posts on this forum have dealt with areas of possible new mold development by HM. Can you indicate which of these, if any, are likely to materialize in the near future? Thanks.

1)WWII Soviet planes like the IL-2, YAK-9, LA5FN, etc.

2)WWII liaison planes

3)WWII float planes

4)WWII Italian or French fighters like the MC-202 or MS-406

5)Biggies ( 4+ engines ) of any era

6)Jets that others have been afraid to tackle like the F-105, F-111, Mirage F-1, Viggen, Mig -23, etc.

Re: HM Interview

Thanks for posting the interview William.

I agree with the following

HM: We’re currently exploring opportunities in larger scale armored fighting vehicle and/or aircraft areas. We recognize that space is starting to become a problem for some collectors. That said, we think that making something bigger with superior detail and workmanship and smaller productions runs is just what may be needed to gain further traction in the marketplace.

I'd rather have one detailed plane in 1:32 scale than a couple shelves of 1:72 scale.

The problem is to decide which is better 1:32, 1:35 or 1:48

Hi,

Due to competitive reasons we prefer not to disclose anything until the actual development of a certain model is started. Also, our distributors advise that it is better to let buyers concentrate on what is selling in the market rahter than giving out too much information of future releases.

Having said these, I can only say that HM will deliver the latest information whenever possible (or I should refrain from participation of such kind of discussion at all).

I concur with your statement Gambit, 1/32 is a great scale (as is 1/35). I have very little room to display models, but that hasn't stopped me from acquiring 10 models in these 2 scales. These pieces just look so much better than the smaller scales and when you mix all of the different scales (1/32, 1/35, 1/48, and 1/72), they look great!!!!!!

Here's hoping for a HM 1/32 Fw 190!

That’s forward thinking; that’s the way it should be. And by golly, as long as Hobby Master produces top-quality product, I’ll support them. And how!

Keep up the terrific work, William!

Yes...much more enlightening than hworth's "chicken factory" photo! Does anyone remember that one from last year? hehe
